Ennio Morricone donates unreleased track to new Green party

Six minutes of great and previously unreleased music is the present from the 'Maestro' Ennio Morricone to the European Green Party, whose birth will be celebrated in Rome from 20 to 22 February at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

Thirty two Green parties – from Spain to Ukraine, from Cyprus to Finland, and from Estonia to Great Britain – will celebrate the record of becoming the first and, for the time being, the only truly united European Party. The soundtrack of the event will be an unreleased Morricone piece with the evocative title "Echi" (echoes).

Grazia Francescato co-spokesperson of the European Greens said:
"We knew that Maestro Morricone was very aware of environmental issues. This is why we asked him to compose a piece for this historic event. He told me that among his compositions that have never performed in public, was an unreleased piece that he thought was appropriate. The track, "Echi", is a truly moving piece of music. It is a musical wave with the force and intensity of natural 'voices.' It is a truly wonderful gift."

The world première of "Echi" will take place on Saturday 21 February during the second day of the European Greens Congress. It will be played after the completion of a 'Sunflower Ceremony' (approximately at noon), during which the leaders of the 32 Green parties will step onto the stage, each one lighting one petal of a huge sun flower.
